COMPLYING WITH THE EU AI ACT AI LITERACY DUTY
UPDATED AUGUST 2026

How do you comply with the EU AI Act AI literacy requirement?

You comply with the EU AI Act AI literacy requirement by making sure the people who use AI on your behalf understand it well enough for their role, and by keeping evidence that you did so. Because the duty is ongoing and proportionate, practical, recorded practice holds up better than a single training session.

Start by mapping who uses AI and in what context, since the expected level is proportionate to the role and the systems involved. A developer building an AI feature and a marketer using a chatbot need different depths of understanding.

Then build the literacy through use, not just a briefing, and keep a record. The Act is overseen by national authorities, and being able to show what your people understand and how you keep it current is the practical heart of compliance.

ARK builds AI literacy through daily practice and keeps that record, so the evidence is a by-product of the work rather than a separate paperwork exercise.

Is one AI training session enough to comply?

It is unlikely to be enough on its own. The duty is ongoing and tied to real use, so most organisations need continuing practice and a record they can show, not a single event.
